Brighton & Hove Albion have shown interest in VfB Stuttgart’s Saša Kalajdžić, according to claims from Germany.

The striker missed the majority of the first half of the 2021/22 season due to a shoulder injury. Since regaining fitness, he managed six goals and two assists from 15 league matches.

Kalajdžić’s performances have seen Brighton take notice as they are currently ‘making concrete efforts’ to secure his services.

That’s according to Bild, who explain the Austria international’s agent, Sascha Empacher, was in England last week, given the 24-year-old is attracting great interest from the Premier League.

Graham Potter’s side finished ninth in the table last term. Therefore, the frontman doesn’t view the Seagulls as an option for him to take the next step in his career. Apart from Brighton, AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur are tagged in the report.

Kalajdžić has 12 months left in his contract and the Bundesliga side are not looking to let him leave for ‘less than €25m’.

If the player ends up staying beyond the summer window, then Stuttgart will offer him an extension until 2024, with an improved salary, so that they don’t risk losing him for free in 2023.
