Brighton and Hove Albion are ‘very interested’ in a move for Strasbourg midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the 22-year-old is a target for the Seagulls should they lose Yves Bissouma this summer.
Bissouma has been the star of the show for Brighton this season, establishing himself as one of their key players and earning rave reviews in the process.
His performances have also caught the attention of several sides higher up the Premier League, with Arsenal and Liverpool thought to be keen on him.
Should he leave, it would mean Brighton will need to enter the market for a replacement and Foot Mercato report that Bellegarde is at the top of the list.
He’s been a key player for Strasbourg this season, and the website states that his performance ‘have not gone unnoticed’.
According to their information, several clubs have ‘recently made enquiries’ about a deal and Brighton are ‘very interested’ in the player.
He is one of the ‘main targets’ for them should Bissouma depart, although there’s no mention of whether they’ve been in touch about a move or anything of that nature as yet.
It all seems to depend on Bissouma but should he depart, it appears Bellegarde is a name to keep a close eye on.
