Brighton & Hove Albion have won the race for Indpendiente Del Valle midfielder Moisés Caicedo, it’s being reported this evening.
Ecuadorian outlet Ecuvisa comes up with an exclusive story saying the 19-year-old will play for the Seagulls, who ‘acquired his rights’.
The story is written by Ecuvisa’s director José Freire Guti. A few minutes earlier, he had posted on Twitter that the move had just been ‘confirmed’ to him.
There’s still no information on how much Brighton are paying for Caicedo, or when the player will complete the move.
Caicedo’s transfer to the Premier League had already been confirmed by Independiente Del Valle’s general manager Santiago Morales earlier today. Speaking to Radio La Red, he didn’t name the club who bought the player, but said the deal was done.
“Everything is closed with a Premier League club for Moisés Caicedo, today he’s getting his work visa and between Wednesday-Thursday we announce it,” said Morales
Moises Caicedo has been linked to several clubs in the past month, mostly from the Premier League. It all started with the many Manchester United stories, including claims of a deal being close, which were followed by claims about Everton, Brighton, Chelsea and Newcastle United.
The reports regarding the Seagulls only showed up after the player followed the club on Instagram, and it seems that was indeed a huge hint on his future. Now it shouldn’t take long until we see if this move is confirmed.
