Brighton & Hove Albion were in attendance to watch Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi at the weekend, claims Haber Global’s Fenerbahce journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

The Kosovo striker has been the subject of interest from Premier League clubs recently and Sabuncuoglu says Brighton scouts were in Trabzon to watch him.

Along with Brighton, it’s reported fellow Premier League side Leicester City also travelled to Turkey to get a lowdown on the attacker. Eintracht Frankfurt and AS Monaco also reportedly sent scouts to watch the player.

Muriqi was linked with a move to Manchester United last week, with claims in the Turkish media Fenerbahce rejected a €25m bid from Manchester United, as they value him in the region of €50m, with the latter figure seeming fanciful.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked in recent months.

The 25 year old has been a key player in Ersun Yanal’s side this season, scoring thirteen goals in all competitions for Fener.

His contract with the Super Lig club will expire at the end of June 2023.
