Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb today features an interesting story on Brighton & Hove Albion’s transfer plans.
Having failed to attract Nico Gonzalez from Stuttgart in the summer, seeing him go to Fiorentina instead, the Seagulls have turned their attention to the source, meaning Argentina.
The man who has caught their eye is youngster Pedro de la Vega. The winger has been linked to several sides in the past, including some from the Premier League, among which can now be found Brighton.
It’s claimed Graham Potter’s side are following him ‘closely’ and have ‘asked for information’ about him.
Even though clubs couldn’t sign him because he’d cost over €10m back then, it’s said his price has now been dropped to ‘below two digits’, meaning sub-€10m.
TuttoMercatoWeb also touch on the failure to Nico Gonzalez, but suggest that because the Lanus starlet ‘still hasn’t established’ himself in Europe, ‘this would be a different solution’.
It’s said this is a track ‘to monitor’ in the January transfer window, with De La Vega scoring one goal and picking up an assist in 11 Liga Profesional appearances this season.
