Fiorentina star Nicolás González has ended up on Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield United’s radar, according to a report from Italy.
The winger scored 14 goals and registered five assists from 42 games last season and Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano has asked the club to keep him.
That’s according to Il Tirreno, who also state both Brighton and Sheffield United are ‘lurking’ to sign him.
It’s further claimed Roberto De Zerbi’s side and the Blades, who were promoted back to the Premier League, have ‘already come forward’ to secure the 25-year-old’s signature.
Leicester City made efforts to take the Argentine in the winter market and even made a €35m bid, which was turned down by Fiorentina.
Il Tirreno say ‘problems could arise’ for Fiorentina, if Brighton, Sheffield United or another club were to table a proposal higher than what the Foxes offered in January, which is in excess of €35m.
The report points out that for now, the approaches made by both Brighton and Sheffield United weren’t interesting financially, which is why the Serie A side aren’t worried.
