Nephew of former Everton and Marseille striker Ibrahima Bakayoko, Ryan Bakayoko is starting to get noticed with his goalscoring tally.
The Montpellier reserves forward has enjoyed a prolific season with the National 2 side, scoring eight goals in 12 appearances, as well as one assist, but the 19-year-old’s future might not be in the south of France.
According to Foot Mercato reporter Sébastien Denis, the youngster ‘hasn’t extended’ his contract with the Ligue 1 side yet, making him a free agent in the summer (according to the article on their website), and Brighton & Hove Albion are ‘alert’ to his situation.
Graham Potter’s side are joined by Lazio in their endeavours for the player who still hasn’t been given his chance with the first-team to date.

Described as a ‘serial goalscorer’ by Denis, Bakayoko is clearly impressing scouts with his performances, and it’s no surprise to see Brighton, always on the lookout for talent, taking an interest.
Whether they succeed in luring him to the Amex Stadium remains to be seen, but with good performances in the Premier League and a history for giving talent a chance, they certainly have the right arguments at their disposal.
