Brighton have already signed Diego Coppola from the grasp of major Italian clubs and are now looking to do the same with Maxim de Cuyper.
The left-back impressed for Club Brugge during the 2024/25 season and also made a mark in their impressive Champions League campaign. This attracted interest from AC Milan and AS Roma, but now Brighton are looking to beat them in the race.
Tuttomercatoweb report that as Milan await the sale of Theo Hernandez to Al Hilal and Roma wait for money from their own major sales, the Seagulls are rushing to sign De Cuyper.
They have already made an offer to the Belgian club, who value the 24-year-old at around €20m and are expected to sell the full-back this summer. Brighton are pushing for the move and accelerating to make sure that they seal the deal before Milan and Roma become active on the incomings front.
De Cuyper scored two goals and racked up five assists in the Jupiler Pro League in the 2024/25 season and also had one goal in the Champions League.
