Brentford are back in the mix to sign SC Freiburg’s Kevin Schade in January, according to a report from Germany.
The Bees were keen on securing the 21-year-old’s services in the last window and even and made an improved offer after their initial bid was turned down by the German club.
A latest report from Kicker states Brentford’s last proposal in the summer was close to €20m excluding bonuses.
Despite the summer disappointment, the Premier League side ‘won’t give up’ on signing the forward.
Freiburg don’t want to part ways with the player midway through the campaign, but the situation remains open. That’s because the Bundesliga side have a ‘financial pain limit’ and this should please Brentford.
The Germany U21 international’s contract lasts until 2026 and the report doesn’t mention any figures that could convince Freiburg to let go of him in the winter market.
Schade has a goal and two assists from 12 appearances in all competitions this season.
Time will tell whether Brentford will take advantage of Freiburg’s situation to sign Schade in January.
