Brentford are ‘willing to pay millions’ to sign youngster Isaac Babadi from PSV Eindhoven this summer, with the Dutch club still not managing to sign him to a new deal.

That’s according to Voetbalzone and journalist Rik Elfrink, who cove the situation around the striker today.

A report earlier this year indicated that Brentford were seriously in the market for the 18-year-old, who is highly thought of inside and outside of the Netherlands.

His current contract expires in 2024 meaning that if PSV cannot get him signed to a new deal this summer, they run the risk of losing him on a free transfer next year instead.

They’re yet to reach an agreement with the player either, despite efforts to do so, with Elfrink reporting that there is a still a ‘considerable distance’ between the two parties.

According to his information, the request made by his agents is far from what PSV have offered so far. That gives suitors such as Brentford a potential opportunity and they, alongside Eintracht Frankfurt and Stade Rennes are ‘willing to pay millions’ to secure his signature.

The downside is that Babadi has indicated he would like to stay with PSV Eindhoven so there is still a belief a deal can be done. At the moment, though, he and the club seem to be far apart in their valuations.

Thus, the window is still open for the Bees, who would seemingly be happy to pay if they need to this summer.
