A couple of weeks ago, the Portuguese media was full of stories regarding Brentford’s alleged interest in signing SC Braga fullback Francisco Moura.

That was a rumour that started in the English press, and at the time, the response from local outlets was that the Minhotos hadn’t received any approaches for the player yet.

Now today, newspaper Record is back talking about this chase, this time highlighting that Brentford are not the only club willing to take Moura to England.

They point out that the Bees should now get competition for the transfer of the 22-year-old, as he’s now ‘very sought’ by Premier League sides for a move in the January transfer window.

Record highlights that Braga’s wish, however, is not to sell Moura now. President Antonio Salvador recently said he wants to keep the squad and manager until the end of the season, blocking any moves next month.

That’s why Record points out that Moura is protected by a contract until 2026 and a release clause worth €30m, so that will always be the figure used as a reference in case clubs actually come for him now.
