Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has insisted Thomas Frank has come up with a specific plan to beat Arsenal, after being frustrated by their performance in their first meeting.
Arsenal host Brentford at the Emirates tomorrow looking to get their title challenge back on track after a disappointing defeat to Everton last weekend.
Doing so will be a difficult task, though, with Brentford in good form and enjoying another superb campaign under Frank’s leadership.
They currently sit 7th in the table after 21 games and just a point outside of the top six, having won four of their last five games in the league.
The last time the two sides met was not a happy occasion for the Bees, who were comfortably beaten 3-0 at home by Mikel Arteta’s side thanks to goals from William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira.
“We have, on the coach’s side, a different way of playing against teams that, on paper, are a bit superior,” he told Marca.
“We have our tactics and the way we play, and Frank has us apply them in a way that we can take advantage of. And it’s shown on the pitch in these games against the ‘Big Six’ with the results we’ve got.
“They (Arsenal) are performing at a very high level and at home they outplayed us. It was the beginning of the season and we hadn’t got into a rhythm and they started very well and that’s where they are.
“To beat them we have to play a 10-man game, not give them too many chances and hurt them on the counter and at set pieces, where we are one of the best teams in the Premiership.”
