Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has admitted he ‘would like’ to go to back to Spain at some point before the end of his career.
Raya started his career in his homeland with Cornella’s U19’s but moved to England as a youngster when he joined Blackburn’s U18’s in 2012
By 2013 he was a part of their first team and, following a loan spell with Southport in 2014, made 108 appearances for the club in total.
He joined Brentford in July 2019 and has been their number one ever since, establishing himself as a key player and playing a vital role in their promotion to the Premier League this year.
He’s since returned, and his performances have earned attention, with Luis Enrique giving him his first international call up this week.
That may have put him on the radar of teams back in Spain, and he admits he would like to play in La Liga at some point in his career.
“I would like to go back to Spain and play in La Liga,” the Brentford goalkeeper told Cadena SER.
“As it is now, I think the Premier League is the best league in the world. I’m very happy, but you never know when you can leave a club.”
