In the winter transfer window, Michael Kayode joined Brentford from Fiorentina on an initial loan deal with the option to buy.

While he made his debut against Tottenham some weeks ago, the Italian is yet to make his first start for the Bees.

He’s made four appearances in the Premier League but he has played only 30 minutes.

This has brought about concern in Italy and Tuttomercatoweb have reported on Kayode’s situation at Brentford.

They state that the defender’s dream was to play in the Premier League and that is why he joined the London club instead of an Italian side. Brentford were seen as the right club because of their reputation of developing young players.

TMW believe that so far, his time in England has not gone as he had desired, because of how little’s he’s played under Thomas Frank. The 20-year-old’s future is ‘still to be written’.

There is confidence that Brentford will still help Kayode develop into a better player, but whether the Bees exercise their option to buy or not will be determined by how the rest of the season goes.
