Over the past two weeks, we covered multiple claims of both Udinese and VfL Wolfsburg looking at Brentford’s Mads Roerslev for the winter market.
Udinese have reportedly withdrawn while the Bundesliga side have made progress to sign the 25-year-old.
Last Tuesday, WAZ stated the right-back has a verbal agreement in place with Wolfsburg and they have to agree a deal with Brentford. The German club wanted him earlier in this window, but the Bees paused negotiations.
Sky Deutschland now state Wolfsburg have made firm progress in their efforts to secure Roerslev’s services.
The Bundesliga side are ‘about to sign’ the Denmark international in January. They have agreed a deal with Thomas Frank’s side to take the fullback on a loan deal with an option to buy set at €6.5m.
Sky Deutschland claim the Brentford player is scheduled to travel to Germany on Monday for medical tests with Wolfsburg. This clearly indicates the operation is at an advanced stage and the official announcement should follow soon.
Roerslev made 23 appearances for Brentford this season and even started in their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
