Brentford have made an attempt to sign AC Milan’s Yacine Adli this summer, according to a report from Italy.

The defensive midfielder clocked in 1,860 minutes from 33 matches in all competitions last season. He was part of the Serie A side’s pre-season tour to the United States but doesn’t have a future at the San Siro.

That’s according to Thursday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, which reports Brentford’s interest in the 24-year-old.

Milan want to trim their squad and several of their players have their ‘bags packed’. The Frenchman is included in the list and he ‘can leave’ the Rossoneri in this window.

The newspaper claims the transfer will depend on the bids he’ll receive, but so far, he has rejected all of them.

Corriere then state Brentford’s ‘proposal has arrived’ in the ‘last few hours’, and they have conveyed their willingness to offer €12m for Adli. They make no mention of whether the player or Paulo Fonseca’s side are ready to do business with the Bees.

Adli has just over three weeks to find a new club, while Brentford have opened the door for the midfielder.
