Brentford have joined the race for Feyenoord striker Róbert Boženík, with a host of clubs in Europe considering a move.
That’s according to 1908, who say Brentford are ‘involved in the battle’ for the 22-year-old alongside the likes of Ferencvárosi, Hamburger SV, Hertha BSC, Sparta Prague, Slavia Prague and Boavista.
According to the website’s information, the forward, who managed two goals in 26 games in the 2.Bundesliga last season ‘has little to complain about’ in terms of interest.
At the moment, Boavista have shown the ‘most concrete’ interest as they are looking for a replacement for Petar Musa, who has joined Benfica.
They, though, cannot meet Boženík’s salary demands at this moment in time, although there is no mention of what those demands are.
Nevertheless, the Portuguese side are in a ‘premature stage’ of negotiations with Feyenoord, which puts them ahead of the competition for now.
That would suggest the likes of Brentford haven’t opened negotiations with Feyenoord as yet, but there is plenty of time for that to change.
1908 also make no mention of the figures being negotiated either, so we’ll wait before getting too excited about this potential deal.
