Brentford are in the picture to sign Red Bull Salzburg’s Rasmus Kristensen this summer.
Operating as a right-back, he managed 10 goals and eight assists from 44 appearances in all competitions in the 2021/22 campaign.
The 24-year-old’s ‘strong season’ with the Austria champions has not gone unnoticed and has caught the attention of Brentford and RB Leipzig.
That’s according to Bild, who, when detailing the defender, explains he is a ‘machine, goes where it hurts’. The player is also a threat when going forward and the statistics are there to back it up.
Leipzig view the Denmark international as a potential replacement for Nordi Mukiele, who is on the agenda of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Mukiele has 12 months left on his contract, but there is a strong possibility he could continue with the Bundesliga side, if they were to receive no convincing offer.
While there is still lacks clarity over Mukiele’s future, Leipzig are after Kristensen. The Bees are also in the mix for his signature.
Bild claim the Dane has a contract until 2023 and it includes an ‘exit clause of €13m’.
Therefore, if Thomas Frank’s side can convince Kristensen to join Brentford, then they could get ahead of Leipzig in the transfer race by paying his release clause.
