Earlier on Monday, we covered claims made by Sky Italia Brentford have made a first offer of €11m plus €7m bonuses to sign Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard.
Thomas Frank is pushing the Premier League side to bring the 22-year-old to the club this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who state the Serie A side have ‘rejected’ the initial proposal made by Brentford, but with a note.
It’s claimed the Italian club have informed the Bees the amount they consider ‘fair’ to sell the winger is around €25m. It could be lowered to €20-22m.
This would allow them to make a capital gain. Sampdoria still have to pay €3.5m to the Denmark international’s former club, FC Nordsjælland. The latter will also to receive 12 percent of the fee from the player’s future sale.
Calciomercato state Brentford could convince the Serie A side by raising the fixed fee from €11m to €13-14m plus an additional €7m as variables. This would open the door for the Dane to make a switch to England.
Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo has not asked the wideman to be sold this summer. Damsgaard struggled with a thigh injury last season, but despite this the coach believes he can get the best out of the player.
With Frank pushing Brentford to negotiate for Damsgaard, Calciomercato state Giampaolo would accept Sampdoria’s decision to sell the attacker, as long as they sign a replacement.
