Brentford and Brighton ruled out as destinations for player – Clubs not seen as ‘career advancement’

There are two reasons why Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion will struggle to sign Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina, according to claims from Italy.

The first is because he’s just signed a new deal with La Viola, as made official by the Serie A side today.

Now even if Brentford and Brighton had been preparing for a new attempt in the next summer window, they’d find it hard to convince the player, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

The outlet today features a story where, besides explaining the contract renewal, they recall all the attempts for the midfielder in the past few months.

It’s recalled that Brighton tried with €35m, and Brentford with €40m, and Fiorentina always kept their belief that the player will be worth much more in the near future.

Now even in case Bees and Seagulls plan a new bid, the story claims those clubs are ‘not seen as a career advancement’ for the player.
