Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers have contacted Nuremberg rising star Caspar Jander ahead of the summer transfer window.

That’s according to BILD, who report that the German side are set to demand a ‘mega-sum’ for the 22-year-old as suitors line up.

The newspaper say that Jander is considered Nuremberg’s rising star and his performances, including his recent debut for Germany’s U21’s against Slovakia, have put him in the spotlight both inside and outside of the Bundesliga.

Brentford and Wolves as well as Belgian giants Club Brugge have already contacted the midfielder while half of the Bundesliga is considering a summer move. Bayer Leverkusen has also inquired about him.

Nuremberg don’t intend to let him go easily and board member Joti Chatzialexiou is believed to have demanded €20m from Leverkusen. That quickly cooled their interest in him.

They have now instead turned their interest to Hertha Berlin’s Ibrahim Maza, who has a release clause of s Ibrahim Maza, who has a release clause of €12m in his current deal.

That could open the door for Brentford and Wolves, although there is no indication that the player will be moving as Nuremberg are yet to speak to his management. That is seen as a sign nothing is going on otherwise the two parties would be speaking.

Of course there is plenty of time for that to change, particularly if the Premier League duo turn their interest into something concrete in the coming months.
