Brendan Rodgers has been so keen to secure Odsonne Edouard for Celtic, that he decided to leave the country and head to France to convince the player.

Rodgers has clearly been completely convinced by Edouard and his talents and wanted to make sure the 19 year old felt the same way about a move to Celtic. Edouard has had a difficult year with a trial and the subsequent appeal, after a passer buy was shot by an air-gun fired from the footballer’s car.

With no conceivable path to the first team at PSG, another loan is the best option. Edouard spent last season at Toulouse and this season will be at Celtic, according to L’Equipe.

But it won’t just be a straight loan.

The French newspaper report Celtic will be signing Edouard initially on loan but with a clause which gives them the option to buy.

Should Edouard impress in the Scottish Premiership then Celtic can sign the striker permanently.
