David Luiz has never really been far away from transfer rumours, with there often being the feeling that someone encourages doubts around the player’s future at specific times.
Even when Luiz had only just joined Chelsea the first time around he was questioned whilst on international duty about ‘many reports’ of Barcelona interest. Back then it was hard to find any reports of Barcelona interest, so the whole set-up seemed rather odd.
Now in his second stint with Chelsea, Luiz is of interest to Barca’s rivals, Real Madrid… at least according to RMC.
France’s RMC are well connected, someone will have told them this rather than it being dreamt up, but that of course doesn’t mean it’s all true.
The claim is that talks have been initiated between Luiz and Madrid, with it very much sounding something between the Brazilian’s camp and the Spanish club, perhaps with the defender being offered.
RMC believe the idea is for a January transfer, with Luiz having an up and down relationship with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, and there’s no concern from the player about being cup-tied in Europe.
To be frank, it stinks of rumours being fed to serve a player’s status, and additionally, or alternatively, Luiz’s camp actually contacting clubs and trying to find a new destination.
Either way, it’s not pretty.
