One of the big stories prior to the January transfer window, Arsenal’s interest in Bahia’s Ramires quickly died down as soon as the new year came and went.
Perhaps his agent’s repeated efforts at playing down a potential move were finally heard, but that doesn’t mean the Gunners have forgotten all about him.
At least, that’s what Gazzetta dello Sport state on Friday, explaining the midfielder is on Leonardo’s list at Milan as one of the Brazilian talents to keep an eye on, but securing his services won’t be easy.
The reason for this is that the 18-year-old is currently the subject of an ‘arm wrestling match’ between Arsenal and Atlético Madrid.
Interestingly, a number of other clubs have travelled to watch Ramires in the past, but it’s those two that Gazzetta focus on, perhaps giving a clear indication of who could be in the lead to acquire his services.
Either way, Milan are seemingly keen to join the queue after their recent Lucas Paqueta success story, meaning Arsenal now have something new to worry about.
