For the past couple of weeks, while Daniel Alves was being linked to Pemier League clubs, the Brazilian media had only been covering the rumours which came from Europe.

But now reliable website Globo Esporte finally brings their own take on the situation, saying there’s indeed a chance the player could move to England.

The outlet writes that it’s Alves’ wish to move to the Premier League, where Arsenal and Manchester City are some of the possibilities for his future.

Globo Esporte claims that big clubs were a little doubtful about signing the right-back at the end of the last season, and that’s why it seemed more likely that he would move to China or the United States.

However, after winning the Copa America as the tournament’s best player, Alves has managed to show he can still play at the top level at the age of 36.

Globo Esporte claims that at Manchester City, Alves’ signing wasn’t even considered before the Copa America. Now he’s on the top of the list of potential signings for the right-back position, moving above João Cancelo.

However, Pep Guardiola can only move for him in case Danilo is sold first. That’s because the club have reached the limit of foreign players in the squad.

Regarding Arsenal, Globo Esporte claims Alves’ name has already been discussed by the football department, which is now commanded by Edu Gaspar, who had been with the player at the national team during the Copa America.

It’s said that one of Alves’ goals is to play for a club who fight for titles, and even a return to Juventus isn’t ruled out, since they now have Cristiano Ronaldo and have been making some heavy investments in their squad.
