Brazil national team coordinator Juninho Paulista is paying a visit to Arsenal today, according to newspaper O Globo.

The Middlesbrough legend has the mission of speaking to Gabriel Martinelli about his future, since the player is still to decide if he’s featuring for his home country.

The 18-year-old has an Italian passport, and in recent interviews has been claiming that he’s still not sure about which national team he’ll represent.

Martinelli had been called up for the Pre-Olympic tournament, but the Gunners didn’t want to let him go, since he’d miss a few games for the club.

Brazil are interested in having him in the first team, so that’s why manager Tite has sent Juninho to have a chat with the striker.

It’s claimed that last month, Tite’s assistants César Sampaio and Matheus Bachi both watched Martinelli in the 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

O Globo writes that Juninho Paulista will be welcomed at Arsenal by Edu Gaspar, who used to have his job at the national team.

The Gunners’ director will show him all of the club’s facilities.
