Brazilian forward Gio Queiroz is already in London to sign for Arsenal Women, according to reports.
Catalan outlet Sport writes that the player left Barcelona and took a flight to England on Tuesday evening. Today, she’s set to have her medical and sign her contract with the Gunners.
Queiroz is switching the Camp Nou side for Arsenal on a permanent transfer. Still, she’s not expected to have an immediate chance at the London side, since she’s now being sent to Everton on a loan spell until the end of the season.
Sport writes that both Barcelona and the player wanted the departure. She had previously filed a complaint for ‘extra sports’ reasons, with the outlet’s sources denying her claims, and both parties wanted a ‘solution’ for her situation.
Unlike the Catalan media, they make bigger explanations of her situation at Barça, recalling that she ‘denounced the technical commission for moral harassment in a public letter’ and got punished by being sent to their second team, besides the ‘illegal confinement’ to stop her from joining the national team.
So the 19-year-old, who’s seen as one of Brazil’s biggest prospects, now follows her career at Arsenal, or should we say Everton, at least for the remainder of the season.
