Back in April, Leeds United were linked to Fluminense winger Matheus Martins.
With the youngster showing big potential for the Rio de Janeiro side, it was claimed the Whites were one of the clubs who’d ‘sought information’ ahead of upcoming windows.
Martins ended up staying at Fluminense for the remainder of the year, but the European interest in him continues. Now it’s time for Extra to report that Udinese placed an €8m offer to land him, and that was not enough to convince the Brazilian club, who could still keep 10% of a future sale.
It turns out that when covering the news, TNT Sports comes up to say that Leeds United, along with Ajax and Benfica, had ‘sent scouts to monitor the youngster’.
So the Whites now not only know how much the player would cost, but should also be aware that Udinese are working seriously to sign him.
Since the Brazilian season ends next month, Fluminense are fine letting the player go in January, so this is an addition that could improve Leeds’ squad in the middle of the season.
