A couple of days ago, Shakhtar captain Darijo Srna revealed that his teammate Fred should be joining either Manchester City or Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
Now it seems that the Croatian player is just as well informed as the Brazilian media, who aren’t going any further than that.
Globo Esporte has a story about Fred today, and despite claiming the interest from the two Manchester clubs, they say there’s no ‘favourite’ in the race for now.
The only certain thing is that the player wants to leave Shakhtar in the summer window, and the agents will be working to take him to one of the ‘giant’ clubs who are after him.
He believes it’s time to take things to the next level.
The Manchester sides are said to be accompanied by other clubs, which makes the race even more unpredictable.
Interestingly, after saying there are ‘no favourites’, Globo Esporte says City and United are the favourites, using the exact same word. It may just be a typo as they try to explain that these two are in front of the race.
Fred himself has made it absolutely clear he’d be thrilled to join Manchester United or Manchester City.
