When the British government announced a deal to allow international players to feature in the Premier League right after returning from South America, it seemed like a fine solution for the issues from the last break.
Despite being set to stay in a hotel for ten days, those footballers will now be allowed to train and play with their clubs normally.
But now a new problem shows up, with Leeds United and other English sides set to miss some players for the eighth round of the Premier League.
Brazil play Uruguay on the eve of October 14, which means Friday morning in England, and as the Whites play Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, Raphinha would hardly meet the squad in time, and especially be in shape, for the match.
Leeds United are reportedly one of the clubs who asked the stars to return early from international duty, and according to news from Brazil, the national team don’t want to accept that.
Globo Esporte says the communications between national team and clubs continues to be open, but there’s no desire from Brazil in only using the Premier League players in the matches against Venezuela and Colombia.
They want all the squad available for that third game against Uruguay too.
Raphinha was one of the many players who were stopped from joining South American sides in the last break. The Leeds United winger would’ve had his international debut at that time, and now has his second chance to do so.
