Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte brings good news for those who want to see Arsenal signing Arthur Melo from Juventus this month.

According to the report, the 25-year-old is now ‘close’ to joining the Gunners.

It’s said the talks for the move advanced on Thursday and are now close to being concluded.

The outlet adds that Arthur will on Friday have a meeting with Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, who’s been reluctant about the transfer, as the club don’t have a replacement for the Brazilian yet.

There the player will ask for the move, and try and push his exit to the London club.

Globo Esporte claims that the midfielder is excited about Arsenal’s interest, and had the green light from Juventus to negotiate his personal terms with them.

Now it’s said there’s optimism from his perspective.

Contrary to reports from the Italian media, it’s now claimed that the Gunners are currently negotiating a buying option with Juventus. The signing is said to be a suggestion from director Edu Gaspar, who worked with Arthur at the Brazilian national team.
