It seems that the break in Gabriel Jesus’ negotiations for a new contract with Manchester City is a real deal.
Besides the English press, Brazilian outlets are also reporting that the agreement has been left for later.
Now it’s Globo Esporte who’s coming with the news, claiming that talks should resume after the ‘important matches’ there are to come in the Champions League and the World Cup.
According to the outlet, Manchester City have offered the Brazilian a salary of €90k per week. His staff, however, believes that he deserves more, and turned it down for now.
The striker has made a counter-offer, which was considered to be too much by the club. That’s why both sides have decided to leave the negotiations to the side for now.
Globo Esporte takes claims from the Daily Mail to say Manchester City are in a hurry to renew Jesus’ contract because of the appreciation the player will get at the World Cup. But the Brazilian website doesn’t seem to know anything about that.
