Barcelona, Juventus, and Manchester United have all made offers for PSG defender Marquinhos, according to the reliable Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.
The website claims Marquinhos has received ‘three recent concrete bids’, but he’s expected to remain at PSG, a club which has helped him on his way to a place in the national team for the 2018 World Cup.
The player would be afraid of switching clubs and not getting enough minutes to convince Brazilian manager Tite. So staying in Paris is a safety option for the 23 year old, at least for one more year.
It’s claimed that with €70m, the biggest offer was from Manchester United. Barcelona offered something between €40m and €45m. Real Madrid have reportedly also made a late approach, but an official bid hasn’t arrived yet.
Globo Esporte claims Marquinhos will calmly choose his next destination. He’s always been fond of Barcelona, but that doesn’t mean he’ll necessarily end up there.
Should the claim of Manchester United’s offer be correct, then one would assume it probably came before the club signed Victor Lindelof. And at €70m, Marquinhos’ worries about game-time would show some extreme cautiousness, but then he is a defender.
