Brazilian website UOL brings good news today for all the Premier League clubs who are interested in signing defender Éder MIlitão from FC Porto.
The report claims that Real Madrid are indeed making a strong effort to sign the player, but in a recent meeting with his entourage, the Spanish club heard that his priority is actually to move to England.
Militão would think it would be too hard to get playing time in Madrid, where he would compete with Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane. And although he can play as a right-back, he’s said to be focused on staying in central defence as that’s where Brazil manager Tite would give him more chances in the national team.
Regarding the Premier League clubs who are keen on Militão, UOL names Everton, Liverpool and Manchester United, although there are still no details on recent moves from these clubs.
UOL claims that Militão’s departure from Porto until the end of the season is considered to be a done deal, and now the club works to get as much money as possible.
That’s why president Pinto da Costa is working hard to increase the player’s €50m release clause. The first approach to do it was denied, but the idea is to convince the player and his staff with a good signing prize.
Everton invested in Yerry Mina in the summer window, whilst a year ago Liverpool completed the signing of Virgil van Dijk, and Manchester United are expected to be on the hunt for a defender.
