The Brazilian press has some conflicting information regarding Paris Saint Germain’s efforts to sign Willian from Chelsea on deadline day.

First, website UOL could confirm the claims from Sky Sports saying the French side are keen on signing the player to replace Neymar, who’s set to miss a few months due to injury.

UOL claimed that Willian’s staff have been in Paris since Wednesday night, waiting for the clubs to find a deal so they could advance with the personal terms.

Willian’s representatives reportedly believe that €40m would be enough to convince the Blues, who had been playing hard in negotiations so far.

UOL is normally a reliable outlet, so that’s a version we would normally believe.

However, ESPN’s João Castelo Branco, who’s also very reliable, has released an afternoon update saying Willian’s agent Kia Joorabchian is in London and not in Paris. The reporter also claimed that by 1PM in the UK there had been no offer from PSG for the player.

Maybe both are right, it could be that Willian’s representatives who are in Paris are not Kia Joorabchian. But it seems that if this transfer is happening, it should be done pretty late on deadline day.
