Chelsea are improving their bid for David Luiz, according to fresh claims from Brazil.

The reliable Globo Esporte says the Blues are close to offering £40m for the defender, but PSG are demanding £45m. They claim that on Tuesday, the negotiations were still stuck at £35m, but the price has been rising ever since.

The story says David Luiz wants to return to Chelsea and his desire will be decisive for the deal to happen.

Earlier reports said PSG would already be looking for a replacement in Brazil, as they were making a move for São Paulo’s Rodrigo Caio and told the player’s father that his son could be taking David Luiz’s place at the club.

It’s unlikely Globo Esporte would be getting their information from either club, so it would have to be someone else connected with the possible last minute transfer.
