Things are getting serious in Chelsea’s chase for the Real Madrid right-back Danilo. After some rumours here and there, it’s time for the reliable Brazilian website UOL to confirm there’s a chance he will join the Blues.

According to the outlet, Danilo’s representatives are flying to Europe this week to try and sort the situation. Both Chelsea and Juventus are willing to pay the amount demanded by Real Madrid, which is €29m plus €3m in bonuses.

Before accepting a move, 25 year old Danilo wants to make sure he won’t have a pay cut by joining a new club, and is waiting for the green light from Real Madrid before discussing personal terms.

UOL claims that Chelsea had Dani Alves as the first option for the right-back position, but with the likely move to Manchester City, their attentions turned to Danilo. It’s said that a first bid has already been rejected by Real Madrid, but now the London club accepted to pay what the Spanish side are demanding.

Chelsea and Juventus seem to be pretty much in a similar position right now, so it’s a matter of who will be the best at convincing the player to join.
