With the English press claiming that Arsenal and Manchester United are both keen on Cruzeiro goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão, we went to take a look if there’s something in the Brazilian media about the chase.
It looks like none of the local outlets know anything about it, as the interest was never broken among them and they are now slowly starting to cover Teamtalk’s story.
Extra credits it to The Sun (as reading that the story comes from Teamtalk would be too much work for them), and recalls a very interesting point.
Although the original report said that United and Roma are ‘gearing up bids of £3m’ for Brazão, Extra recalls that the player has recently signed a contract extension with a release clause of over €40m.
A few months ago, website Superesportes has also claimed that the release clause for the 18-year-old is €45m.
With Gabriel Brazão being called up for the national team at such a young age, it’s obvious that Cruzeiro won’t let him go for such a little amount. Especially with his agent recently confirming approaches from several European sides.
