At the start of the week, Italian website Calcio Mercato published a long list of clubs who are interested in São Paulo youngster Brenner.

The race included the likes of Ajax, Arsenal, Juventus, AC Milan and Paris Saint Germain, so it obviously had some echo in the Brazilian media.

Brenner was a hero on Wednesday night. He scored two goals in a 2-1 win over Flamengo, and that was a huge match as São Paulo legend Rogério Ceni was making his debut as manager of the Rio de Janeiro side.

So the local press is full of stories about the striker today, and Estadão brings the chances that interested clubs have of signing him soon.

They say there are three reasons why big sides are keen: that’s because he’s close to getting a European passport, he’s still 20 years old and is in great form.

Still, Estadão learned that São Paulo only received approaches so far, as no official bids were made.

Since his passport should only be ready for next summer, it’d make sense for clubs to wait, especially Arsenal, who’d need a work permit.

The outlet points out that São Paulo have 100% of his rights, which is unusual for Brazilian clubs, and protected him with a release clause of €50m.

One of the clubs in the list is Ajax, who signed David Neres for €22m in 2017 and Anthony for €16m this year. So Arsenal should be aware of the Dutch side’s good relationship with São Paulo.
