Everton are holding a meeting with the agent of Brazilian star Everton Cebolinha, according to claims from Brazil on Thursday.

Zero Hora journalist Pedro Ernesto Denardi says the player’s agent is flying to Europe to negotiate with the Toffees.

The report is pretty short, but Denardi claims the sale is ‘very close to happening’, according to information he received this morning.

On Wednesday, we covered reports from reliable website UOL claiming that a meeting in Liverpool at the weekend has ‘kept alive’ the possibility of the transfer.

On the same day, Radio Grenal also talked about the chance, saying Everton could move to Goodison Park in a €30m deal. Someone has clearly been feeding this information to the media in Brazil, and yesterday’s reports looked like they could have something in them.

There’s a chance Denardi is using Wednesday’s claims and taking a step ahead, hoping to look like he’s the one who broke the news of a deal being close.

As we stated yesterday, this could be all an effort being made by agents to try and build a transfer, rather than Everton (the club) pursuing it themselves.
