When Cedric Soares made his move from Southampton to Inter Milan in the January transfer window, it seemed like a step forward for him.
Even though he initially moved on a loan deal, there was the chance to prove himself so the Italian side would use their buying option to sign him permanently.
But things haven’t been working as expected. Not only because of his performances, but also for the way the local media has been treating his arrival.
Not long ago, we covered a story which said Inter won’t sign him permanently, regardless of his performances, as Cedric would only be considered a ‘quick fix’ until the club go for a definitive target in the summer.
This report wasn’t in isolation and seem to be the opinion of the media closest to Inter.
Now this week, Cedric is called a ‘flop’ by website Calcio Mercato, the same who said he wouldn’t have a chance to continue at the club.
As they bring a story praising Danilo D’Ambrosio, who’s been starting most of the matches at the club, they name Cedric Soares and Šime Vrsaljko as the flops of the right-back position.
Cedric has only four appearances for Inter so far, and considering how things are going, Southampton will be having him again at the end of the season.
