Brahim Diaz’s move from Manchester City to Real Madrid certainly isn’t working out how the player and his representatives will have expected.
During the last winter transfer window, Brahim’s entourage entered talks with Los Blancos and it was decided there’d be no renewal with Manchester City. Then there was the option of a free transfer to Real Madrid the following summer, but the Spanish club completed the move in January instead for €17m.
That’s now seen as a waste of money, given he made little impact for the remainder of the season.
This campaign hasn’t been much different, Brahim hadn’t wanted to leave Real Madrid on a loan move, but he hasn’t had the minutes he will have expected. With just 40 minutes of action, spread over La Liga and the Champions League, the 20 year old has missed out on the majority of the club’s match-day squads.
Sport report that Madrid sending €17m to City was a ‘complete fiasco’, and that despite Zinedine Zidane being a fan the youngster has failed to kick-on.
His future with the club is said to be ‘tinged with black’, and he may now have to leave Real Madrid in search of the minutes he left Manchester City in search of.
