Dedryck Boyata potentially swapping Celtic for Sevilla seems to be a much bigger story in Scotland than it is in Spain.
Sevilla have several local media outlets covering their every move, specifically transfers, and whilst Boyata is getting a mention, it appears to largely lean on claims coming out of Scotland.
Estadio Deportivo, who cover Sevilla transfers almost obsessively, picked it up at the weekend, along with claims of a £10m offer for the player, but they credited Diario de Sevilla for their information.
The report that came from made it clear that these claims are being pushed in Scotland.
Spanish sport newspaper Mundo Deportivo cover the transfer situation on Monday, but they also say that it’s all according to claims in Scotland.
Sport goes independent, but given the small size of their story there doesn’t appear to be a great deal of commitment in it and it’s not too hard to question that it wouldn’t have existed without the previous claims.
Should Sevilla see a market opportunity here then it would be no surprise to see them take it, but the Spanish club are constantly on the lookout for bargains.
Whether they feel £10m+ for Boyata, with a year left on his contract, represents a great bargain doesn’t yet seem clear.
