Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi is set to be called up to the Argentina squad for the next international break.
That’s according to Doble Amarillo, who report that the Bournemouth star has impressed Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni with his recent performances.
According to their information, Argentina are already planning for the next international break in which they will take on Paraguay and Peru in World Cup qualifying.
One big change they’re planning is the return of Senesi, whose only appearance for his country so far was 22 minutes in a 5-0 international friendly win over Estonia in June 2022. He was also a part of the squad for the Finalissima against Italy.
It seems his performances for Bournemouth have convinced Scaloni to bring him back into the fold in the next break, though.
The 27-year-old has six appearances in the league for the Cherries so far this season, missing the opening draw with Nottingham Forest and the 3-0 loss to Liverpool. All but one of his appearances has been for 90 minutes, with him taken off after 77 minutes in the win over Everton.
Bournemouth currently sit 11th in the table and just two points outside of the top seven, three outside of the top six, and it seems that has put Senesi in the spotlight for Argentina.
