AFC Bournemouth are in a battle with Nottingham Forest to sign PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko this summer.

Nottingham Forest are in the process of selling Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United and will be looking for his replacement in the market. The latest claims from the English media have stated the Reds are keen on Bakayoko, who is valued at €30-35m.

De Telegraaf relays that and then provides their own take on Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest interest.

The Cherries and Bayer Leverkusen have ‘expressed serious interest’ in the 22-year-old. The report adds sources close to him have revealed that these two clubs have already approached the Eredivisie side, likely to register their serious interest.

Nottingham Forest signed Ibrahim Sangaré from the Dutch club in 2023. De Telegraaf state they would ‘like to shop in Eindhoven’ again, with money from Elanga’s sale, to sign the Belgium international.

PSV are expected to cash in from Bakayoko’s sale in this window as he has less than a year left on his contract. It’s claimed they ‘will have to cooperate on a transfer’ to avoid losing him for free next summer.
