Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen is currently undergoing a medical at Real Madrid ahead of signing for the Spanish giants.

That’s according to El Chiringuito and journalist Edu Aguirre, who reports that the deal is closed for the Bournemouth defender.

Real Madrid’s interest in Huijsen has ramped up this week as they plan to rebuild their defence this summer, with new manager Xabi Alonso believed to be keen on the centre-back.

The deal has been quickly progressing this week, with Huijsen available for around €50m thanks to a release clause in his Bournemouth contract.

Aguirre and El Chiringuito confirm that matters are moving quickly, stating that the agreement is closed between Real Madrid and Huijsen.

According to their information, the defender is undergoing a medical examination at this moment in time, and he will sign his contract with the Spanish giants in the new few hours.

That should bring an end to the swirl of rumours around Huijsen, who was being courted by all the big teams in Europe this summer but now seems destined to land the Santiago Bernabeu after his impressive year at Bournemouth.
