Bournemouth and Fulham are reportedly two of the clubs interested in signing Genk defender Jhon Lucumi.

The story comes from the player’s home country Colombia, where journalist Pipe Sierra describes the race for his transfer.

The reporter shows up to say that the first offer Genk received for the player came from Bologna, with the Serie A side bidding €5m plus €1.5m in bonuses. He claims there’s no response to that yet.

Pierra then lists the other clubs who’ve been ‘following from close’, and that’s where the English sides show up. The interested parties are said to be Atalanta, Bournemouth and Fulham.

With multiple clubs interested in the defender, then it’d be no surprise to see Genk holding a little to see if any of them will show up with a better bid soon, as the player is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €9m.

For now, there’s no information whether Bournemouth and Fulham would like to outbid Bologna, although the Premier League sides would probably have the financial conditions to do so.
