There’s a claim in the Spanish media that Valencia will focus on signing Bournemouth defender Max Aarons in this transfer window, and they work to bring players in whilst battling with what is described as their ‘war economy’.

The La Liga side want to sign a right back this month and yesterday there were reports they were showing interest in the Bournemouth player.

Levante EMV today report on Valencia’s pursuit for a right back, and they say Aarons is the ‘preferred option’ for the Spanish giants. They were previously linked with a move for the player in 2020 when he was at Norwich City.

Valencia have been tracking Sporting defender Iván Fresneda but it seems he will be heading Serie A side with Como. Subsequently, Valencia will focus on getting a deal done for Aarons and are looking to take advantage of his situation at Bournemouth.

There is no indication whether Valencia are looking for a loan or want to sign Aarons on a permanent deal, but are keen to bring in a right back due to a long-term injury to Thierry Rendall.

Aarons has made just three appearances for Bournemouth this season, all coming in the Premier League. However, he did make his first start of the campaign during the Christmas period.
