Bournemouth are reportedly winning the race against Benfica for Sampdoria right-back Pedro Pereira. Although the Portuguese club want the player to return home, Bournemouth are said to be fighting hard to bring him to the Premier League.

According to A Bola on Monday, Bournemouth have already had a €5m offer rejected due to the player’s wish to go back to Portugal, but they are now insisting by offering €7m.

The offer is said to be good for Sampdoria, who would accept it right away. The personal terms would also be ‘tempting’ for the player.

CapturarBenfica are reportedly offering €3m plus the transfer of Filip Duricic, who’s already on loan at Sampdoria. The problem is that the player isn’t accepting the wages offered by the Italian side, so the deal can’t move on.

With A Bola being A Bola, they obviously say that Benfica have the lead. They not only claim that the Eagles’ offer has already been accepted by Sampdoria, but also that Pereira’s wish is to return to the club.

However, they still make clear that Bournemouth’s bid is very good. And even though the Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira is confident of reaching a deal, the numbers shown in the article give the English club some advantage.
