Incoming Bournemouth signing Eli Junior Kroupi has continued his fine form in France, breaking a 22-year-old Emmanuel Adebayor record in the process.

That’s according to Ma Ligue 2, who cover the player today and how he is the youngest player since Adebayor in 2003 to reach 11 goals in the league.

They explain that Kroupi has reached the tally at the age of 18 years and 251 days, becoming the youngest player in the history of the division to do so.

He has beaten Adebayor, who set the record at the age of 18 years and 339 days back in January 2003 while playing for Metz. He, of course, eventually ended up starring for Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League, and Bournemouth will be hoping for the same when Kroupi makes the move to them in the summer.

He was bought by the Cherries in the January transfer window but loaned back to Lorient to continue his development, a decision that is paying off for both parties.

Alongside breaking that Adebayor record, the U19 international could also become the youngster top goal scorer in the history of the division in the 21st century.

That is currently held by Umut Bozok after he managed 24 goals aged 21 in 2018. Kroupi is currently second in the standings but is only one goal behind Timothée Nkada in the running. The race is very much on, and the 18-year-old may end the campaign with several records to his name and justifying the €13m Bournemouth already paid to sign him.
